Moving from small-format plein air observation and material error (Road to the Clouds) to virtual reality environments reflecting ancestral memory (Echoes of the Forest) and dynamic, changing nature (Floral Impressions with Alice), this section examines the shift between natural landscapes, digital mediation, and synthetic memory.

1. Road to the Clouds (2024)

Road to the Clouds explores the physical and digital gestures of landscape painting. The series contrasts traditional plein air practice—characterized by small-format paper, immediacy, and material error—with digital creation mediated by screens. Rather than replicating nature directly in the virtual realm, the digital palette is constructed from internet imagery, raising questions about how tools, surfaces, and spaces define our contemporary experience of territory.

2. Echoes of the Forest (2024)
Virtual reality environment, digital video, and 3D simulation.
Echoes of the Forest shifts from physical geography toward the spirit and memory of place. Drawing a conceptual parallel with Walter Benjamin’s reflections on the artwork, the project asks whether an ancestral connection to the Colombian jungle can persist within a purely synthetic medium. Created entirely in virtual reality, the piece operates as a digital return to organic roots and lived identity.

3. Floral Impressions with Alice (2023)

Floral Impressions with Alice redefines the static garden as a dynamic, animated space. Inspired by the transformational logic of Alice in Wonderland, the project explores how nature evolves when freed from physical permanence. Brushstrokes float and morph in virtual space, granting objects a shifting identity and allowing viewers to observe a living, changing harmony.

Paisaje en dos estados aborda la reconfiguración del territorio a través de la tensión entre la observación física y la simulación digital. El proyecto plantea un recorrido procesual que inicia en la inmediatez del dibujo al aire libre y el error propio de la materia (Road to the Clouds), avanza hacia la búsqueda del espíritu del lugar y la memoria ancestral dentro de entornos de realidad virtual (Echoes of the Forest), y culmina en la construcción de naturalezas dinámicas e inestables (Floral Impressions with Alice). En conjunto, este cuerpo de trabajo investiga cómo la pantalla y los entornos sintéticos transforman nuestra experiencia contemplativa de la naturaleza, convirtiendo el paisaje en un espacio vivo de memoria, código y transformación.
