My artistic practice lies at the intersection of the physical and the digital, exploring how technology is a symbiosis that shapes our essence with the organic. Through virtual reality, I create animated paintings that invite the viewer to immerse themselves in dreamlike landscapes, where the boundaries between the natural and the artificial blur.
Inspired by the intricate patterns of the natural world, I seek to convey an aesthetic that reflects the profound connection between humans, nature, and technology. My work is a meditation on the exterior and the interior, using technology not as a barrier, but as a means to access that essential otherness that is part of us: something that modifies our roots and our inner landscape.
The concept of "expanded space," developed in the 1960s, significantly influences my approach, allowing me to create immersive environments that transcend the limitations of the traditional canvas. In these virtual experiences, the viewer is not a mere spectator, but an active participant, becoming an integral part of the artwork.
My creative process combines traditional painting techniques with cutting-edge digital tools. I often begin with sketches and studies on paper, using physical media to inform my initial impulse. These drawings are then transformed into three-dimensional environments using virtual reality software, where I can explore the work and shape it from within. This fusion of methods allows me to preserve the gestures and texture of the painting, while expanding into new dimensions of expression.
Each piece I create is an invitation to reflect on our relationship with the environment and with ourselves. In a world that is constantly changing, being manipulated, and where new technologies are being integrated into our vision and relationship with our environment, my goal is to create spaces for contemplation and connection. Spaces that allow us to pause, breathe, and perhaps remember something ancient and vital within us. I believe that art, when it coexists between the visible and the invisible, between the digital and the spiritual, can become a portal. A place where presence and imagination meet, where technology returns us not to the future, but to a deeper understanding of our present. Through this hybrid practice, I hope to contribute to a broader dialogue about the role of technology in our lives and how it can be used not to escape reality, but to deepen how the now is our experience with it.
